You Don't Have to Carry This Alone
I’m Alexi Neal, a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Energy Healer, and Mom to two tiny humans. I help moms like you reconnect with your body, release tension, and navigate this season of life with greater trust and resilience.
I know what it’s like to feel lost in your own body.
After my first birth, I felt disempowered and disconnected, struggling with postpartum anxiety and depression. I didn’t trust myself to make decisions, and I felt overwhelmed by the weight of motherhood. But my second pregnancy was different. I made choices that truly supported my mental and emotional well-being—choices rooted in my body’s wisdom. That connection changed everything.
My practice began with a focus on trauma healing, harnessing the profound power of a body-mind approach to transformation. Grounded in psychology, neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatics, I helped clients reconnect with their bodies and reclaim their authentic selves.
Since returning to my practice after having my babies, I became certified as a Prenatal Yoga Teacher and specialized in Yoga Therapy for the Pelvic Floor. These tools deepen my understanding of movement and breath during the perinatal period, guiding my choices in session—but they don’t change the heart of this work: empowering you to trust your own intuition and inner strength.
I believe that only you, your body, and your baby know what’s right for you.
My role is to help you tap into that knowing.

Come Home to Your Body
You don’t have to figure it all out in your head. Healing happens when you regulate your nervous system, shift out of survival mode, and reconnect with the body’s innate intelligence—something neuroscience shows is key to emotional resilience.
Using movement, breath, therapeutic touch, and mind-body techniques grounded in neuroscience, I guide you to:
- Get out of your head and into your body—so you can breathe again
- Release tension and discomfort—so your body feels like home again, whether you're pregnant or postpartum.
- Find emotional balance—so you feel grounded and confident in your experience.
- Create space for clarity—so you know your next steps, even in the unknown
- Trust and reconnect with your body—through every shift of pregnancy, birth, and beyond, so you feel strong, capable, and whole.

Somatic Therapy for Motherhood

Prenatal Somatic Therapy
Becoming a Mother is a Birth of Its Own.
With every child you bring into the world, you’re not just welcoming a baby—you’re transforming as a mother. Each pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience is different, bringing new challenges, shifts, and opportunities to reconnect with yourself.
The most powerful way to move through these changes is by strengthening your connection to your body and your baby.
Your journey through motherhood is completely unique—only you, your body, and your baby know what’s truly right for you. My role is to help you listen to that inner wisdom, so you can move through this season with confidence, clarity, and ease.
Along the way, you may also experience:
- Finding ease in your changing body.
- Connecting to and developing an understanding of your pelvic floor.
- Feeling grounded and prepared - mind, body and spirit - for birth.
- Building strength and resilience for postpartum.
- Calming anxiety and quieting an overactive mind.
Postnatal Somatic Therapy
Trust Yourself in the Postnatal Period
The early days of motherhood can be overwhelming. Advice, guidelines, and well-meaning opinions come from every direction—but the only voice that truly matters is your own. Your intuition is your greatest guide.
At the same time, caring for yourself looks different now. Your time and energy are stretched in new ways, making support more essential than ever. Allow yourself to be held and cared for, so you can continue showing up for your baby with strength and presence.
Postnatal Somatic Therapy supports the brain-body connection, allowing you to process and integrate your birth experience in a way that research shows is essential for nervous system regulation and emotional healing.
Additional benefits include:
- Restoring connection with your core and pelvic floor.
- Releasing tension from feeding, holding, and carrying your baby.
- Easing postpartum anxiety and emotional overwhelm.
- Creating space for deep rest and nervous system regulation.
- Reconnecting with your body in a way that feels safe and supportive.
Please note: Postnatal sessions are appropriate even in the early days postpartum, and are available in-home. Please contact me directly to schedule in-home visits.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a regular yoga class?
Somatic therapy is not just about movement—it’s about using the body as a pathway for healing. Unlike traditional yoga, which focuses on physical postures, this work integrates neuroscience, mindfulness, and therapeutic dialogue to help you regulate your nervous system, release stored tension, and reconnect with your intuition.
Do I need yoga experience to participate?
No experience is necessary! This practice is accessible to all bodies and is tailored to your needs in each session.
What does a typical session look like?
Each session is tailored to your needs. We begin with a check-in to explore what’s present for you in the moment. From there, I’ll guide you through movement and postures, incorporating breath, therapeutic touch, and dialogue to cultivate deep awareness—the space where true somatic transformation happens. We’ll then integrate your experience through guided reflection, co-creating practical steps to carry into your daily life.
I’m not pregnant or newly postpartum—can I still work with you?
Yes! While I specialize in perinatal support, these tools are powerful for any stage of motherhood. Whether you’re processing a past birth experience, struggling with stress, or just needing deeper support, this work can help.
I already have a doula/midwife. How does this fit in?
While doulas and midwives provide essential birth support, this work focuses on the internal process—helping you develop a deep connection to your body, regulate stress, and move through pregnancy with confidence and ease. Many clients find that this work complements their birth preparation beautifully.
Can this help with pregnancy-related anxiety?
Yes! Somatic therapy is a powerful tool for managing anxiety by helping you regulate your nervous system, quiet racing thoughts, and build trust in your body’s ability to navigate birth.
What if I’m experiencing a high-risk pregnancy?
This work can often be adapted for high-risk pregnancies, but always consult with your care provider before beginning.
How soon after birth can I start?
Sessions can be tailored to your postpartum stage. Some gentle practices can be started early (even in the first few weeks postpartum), while more active movement is recommended after clearance for regular activity (usually around 6–8 weeks). In-home sessions are available for early postpartum clients.
Can I bring my baby to sessions?
For private postnatal sessions, absolutely! For group sessions, lap babies are welcome, but the practice is designed to be a space for you to focus on yourself.
How does this help with postpartum anxiety and depression?
Somatic therapy has been shown to support nervous system regulation, which is essential in managing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. It helps you move from a place of overwhelm into one of self-trust, grounding, and resilience.
