Holding the Mother

A SoulFull Approach to Postpartum Healing

In the postpartum window, you are also newly born.

Just as you nourish and care for your baby, you, too, need nourishment and loving support. In our modern culture, we have minimized the significance of this transition. We have been taught to value independence over wellbeing.

Motherhood is often a reckoning. Though it may feel unfamiliar, and perhaps uncomfortable, learning to ask for and accept support during this time is essential to our long-term health.

In many traditions, the first 40 days after a person gives birth are sacred. Communities gather around them to offer food, healing touch, and household support. This tradition stems from a deep understanding that our bodies need space to rest and recover after birth; that the feeding and care of a newborn is a significant undertaking; and that a nourished mother is essential for a nourished baby.

I offer Holistic, Trauma-Informed Postpartum Care, rooted in many years of somatic healing experience. Beyond the typical postpartum doula services of baby support, light housework and meal prep, these offerings also include holistic birth recovery services, herbal support, bodywork, yoga therapy, and energy healing.

Serving the greater Denver metro area (travel fee may be applied for families farther than 30 minutes from my home in Littleton).

I might be the doula for you if...

You're a first time mom who understands how essential rest, loving care and nourishment are during the fourth trimester.

This is not your first baby, and you know you need more holistic support this time around.

You know that rest is important postpartum - and you don't want all the labor of the household to fall on your partner.

You want to heal holistically from your pregnancy and birth - incorporating herbs, food, ritual, bodywork and energy work into your recovery plan.

You feel anxious about becoming a mother, and want an experienced support system.

You've experience trauma, and need extra tender care during this vulnerable time.

Testimonials

Alexi is fantastic at what she does and I can’t recommend her enough. Along with everything she did for me regarding postpartum Doula items, it was also really healing and comforting to have a fellow mother here who could listen to me and relate to what I was going through!!

Christine Postpartum Doula Support, Womb Closing

Alexi is a true healer. I’ve had reiki, somatic healing and a womb closing ceremony with her. She is pure magic and makes me feel safe, nurtured and held. I feel so much better everytime I see her as well as validated.

Jane Somatic Healing, Womb Closing

Alexi made me feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning of the womb closing ceremony! She took time to ask about my intentions and listen to my birth stories, which made the ceremony feel deeply personal. The experience included smoke clearing, flower brushing, chakra meditation, bodywork, and wrapping in scarves—each part helping me release what I no longer needed and step into a new chapter as a mama of two. I left feeling lighter, more expansive, and truly nourished. A beautiful and transformative experience!

Jenna Womb Closing

Alexi has provided me tremendous support throughout my pregnancy. I knew I wanted community and so I first joined her prenatal yoga class. Not only did I get the support I wanted but she tailored the classes to our needs and provided us with resources to help along the way. I didn’t know I needed therapy but I decided to try her somatic healing. I’m convinced every pregnant woman should try it. It connected me to my body and my baby in a way I didn’t realize I was missing. I’m forever grateful and look forward to continue utilizing her support through postpartum.

Angela Prenatal Yoga, SoulFull Pregnancy

I was 6 years postpartum when I had the fortune of receiving Alexi’s gentle guidance & only had a few sessions - but even those few sessions helped me center back into my body & work towards healing years of persistent pelvic pain… at one of the hardest times of my life! Miraculous is the word that comes to mind for the possibility within her work. I look forward to returning to learn from her again in the future.

CC Somatic Healing Sessions

Alexi was such an amazing asset to my birth recovery. As my postpartum doula she was able to help out with housework, a few breastfeeding things (she helped immensely with how to prop the baby in my space for more comfortable feeding), herbal healing (teas/footbaths), and the amazing Closing of the Womb ceremony she performed.

Christine Postpartum Doula, Womb Closing

I have seen her for healing around my cesarean birth and have felt a significant shift in my body and spirit since going. If you are a new mom, postpartum or pregnant, I definitely recommend you go see her!

What does it mean to be trauma-informed in postpartum care?

With a background in somatic trauma-healing through Yoga Therapy and Energy Healing, I bring an added layer of awareness and safety to your postpartum cocoon.

Becoming a mother can be fraught with difficult emotions – even if we have a dream pregnancy and birth. As a trauma-informed practitioner, I can help you hold space for the full spectrum of your experience postpartum.

If you have trauma in your history, I may be a particularly good fit as your doula. I can help you navigate the ways those old traumas may resurface through the body in the days after giving birth.

At the core of trauma-informed care is awareness – you may be more tender, more sensitive, more anxious. You may feel like you are asking too much. You may not know what to ask for. No matter where you are, I can meet you there to offer loving support.

Holistic Birth Recovery

As pregnancy and labor ask so much of you, postpartum is a time of deep healing and integration. Holistic Birth Recovery honors this sacred transition with practices that tend to the layers of your being: body, mind, and soul.

Through yoni steaming to support cleansing and renewal, a womb closing ceremony to gently seal what has been opened, and somatic healing sessions to reconnect you with your body’s wisdom, these offerings create a pathway back to wholeness. Each is an invitation to be witnessed, nourished, and held as you step fully into your new chapter of motherhood.

These services can be offered in my office space. If you’d like in-home services, consider purchasing my in-home birth recovery package.

Yoni steaming is a sacred practice to cleanse and soothe the pelvic tissues, connect with your womb space, and support the optimal function of your sacral chakra. Herbs will be intentionally chosen to support your body, and while you sit I will offer meditation and energy healing to deepen the experience. You will leave feeling alive, embodied and open.

Schedule a Yoni Steam for pelvic support, hormonal support, or as part of your birth recovery process. You can start steaming when bleeding subsides after a vaginal birth, or 6 weeks after a cesarean birth.

Appropriate from 4 weeks to many years postpartum.

A Womb Closing Ceremony is a sacred rite of passage – a way to mark and honor the chapter of birthing your baby, and step into the next chapter of your life and motherhood.

Through pregnancy and birth, our bodies and energy fields must expand and open to allow new life to pass through. After giving birth, it is important that we close the bones of the pelvis, energetically sealing the root chakra and womb space.

In this ceremony, we call in the power of Mother Earth, of smoke and plant medicine, of body work and energy healing – to help the wisdom your womb has gained through pregnancy and birth to surface and integrate.

In the final stage of the ceremony, you can be tightly wrapped in scarfs. Not only is this a delicious physical experience for postpartum bodies, but also a symbolic cocoon, within which you can process the lessons from your birth.

A physical and spiritual experience, you can expect to emerge from a Womb Closing Ceremony transformed.

I offer this ceremony with profound gratitude to the lineage of American and Mexican midwives that have tended to and taught these practices. May we all collectively remember what it is to be held.

Appropriate from 4 weeks to many years postpartum.

Somatic Healing Sessions for Birth Recovery combine Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy, Energy Healing, and Abdominal Massage to help you reconnect with your postpartum body, support healing in your core and pelvic floor, release tension and bring nourishing energy into your being.

You deserve care.

About Alexi

I’m Alexi Neal, a Holistic Postpartum Doula, Trauma-Informed Somatic Healer and Mom to two tiny humans.

In over 13 years of supporting healing in the body and beyond, I have become a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, an Internationally Certified Yoga Therapist, a Reiki Master, and a continuous student of neuroscience, the nervous system, and human deveopment. I was trained as a Postpartum Doula by my own homebirth midwife, Geneva Montano.

I have also specialized in Prenatal Yoga, Yoga Therapy for the Pelvic Floor, Holistic Postpartum Recovery, Matrescence, Ayurveda, and Trauma Informed Care. My practice brings together modern research and ancient wisdom.

My own journey into Motherhood journey sparked the call work with mothers. For 5 years, I applied this knowledge to supporting trauma survivors in healing, integrating and building thriving lives through individual and group support. But when I became a mother, I faced my own reckoning with the dramatic life changes that occur through this portal. It’s a time that needs far more attention, preparation, and support than our culture believes. But when we provide that support, it is rich with creative, dynamic and evolutionary potential.

Now, my mission is to hold mothers through this threshold, so they can emerge vibrant and rooted.
